Alua Ablyazova has become a hostage to the political repression of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
On the night of May 29 in Rome, several dozen officers from the Italian police burst into the home of Alma Shalabayeva, Mukhtar Ablyazov’s wife, forcibly kidnapped her, and drove her in an unknown direction without having any legal basis for doing so. In the process of this illegal detention, Alma’s relative, Bolat Seraliev, was badly beaten.
A day later, on the eve of International Children’s Day, the Italian police kidnapped Alma Shalabayeva and Mukhtar Ablyazov’s six-year-old daughter.
The rights of Alma Shalabayeva and her daughter have been most severely violated, as stated by the local prosecutor, who requested that the illegal seizure of Mukhtar Ablyazov’s family members be stopped.
The Italian police, however, did not respond to the prosecutor’s demand, and early on the morning of May 31, Mukhtar Ablyazov’s wife and daughter were illegally deported to Kazakhstan in a private plane chartered by the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This glaring violation of international convention calls into question the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights because the case of the Ablyazov family’s forcible and illegal seizure is a gross violation of the law, especially as the role of perpetrator of this crime was played by the government representatives of a European country.
The Khrapunov family draws the attention of the global community, the public, government leaders and leaders of international human rights organizations to the glaring violation of the Ablyazov family’s rights and appeals for Alma Shalabayeva and her six-year-old daughter, Alua, kidnapped on the eve of International Children’s Day, to be returned to their family.
The global community and international organizations for the protection of human rights and freedoms have no right to close their eyes to such a glaring violation of all existing laws and international conventions, especially as it has been carried out on the orders of the acting President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
